STAIBDANCE SUMMER INTENSIVE IN ITALY
CODE OF CONDUCT
This Code of Conduct applies to all participants in the staibdance Summer Intensive in Sorrento, Italy. It establishes shared expectations that support a professional, respectful, and safe environment, while upholding the dignity and integrity of staibdance’s values.
All participants represent staibdance and are expected to conduct themselves with professionalism, maturity, and accountability at all times.
Participants are expected to treat peers, faculty, staff, and community members with respect and professionalism, regardless of age, sex, nationality, ethnic origin, status, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, political affiliation, qualifications, or personal differences.
Participants must comply with all applicable local laws and regulations, as well as the policies and expectations of Hotel Montana. Relevant legal and site-specific guidelines will be shared upon arrival.
As guests in all spaces we occupy, participants are expected to treat studios, accommodations, and public areas with care. This includes avoiding damage (intentional or accidental), restoring spaces to their original condition, and cleaning up after use.
While there is no formal curfew, participants are expected to observe quiet hours in the hotel: after 10:00 PM on weeknights and after 11:00 PM on weekends. Hotel Montana enforces a €50 fine per room after three noise complaints, and for each additional complaint thereafter; participants are responsible for any fines incurred.
Participants are expected to contribute to a culture of accountability by attending all classes, arriving on time, and being physically and mentally prepared to fully engage.
Attendance at all rehearsals is required, except in cases of serious illness or injury. Participants who miss a rehearsal without notifying staibdance faculty or staff may forfeit the opportunity to perform.
Participants who violate local laws may be referred to local authorities if necessary. Any costs associated with property damage, misuse, or required repairs will be the responsibility of the participant(s) involved.
If a participant poses an immediate risk to themselves or others, staibdance staff reserves the right to take appropriate action, including immediate removal from program activities, escort from program premises, and/or involvement of local authorities. In such cases, the participant will be responsible for arranging and covering the cost of their return travel.
Failure to adhere to this Code of Conduct may result in a disciplinary meeting with staibdance Summer Intensive staff, including George Staib and Patsy Collins (in person). Repeated violations—three or more—may result in loss of performance privileges.
