<image:caption>Born in the Netherlands, Tim Volleman has currently found his home in Bologna. His journey with Countertechnique® began during his studies at Codarts/Rotterdam Dance Academy in 2007. In 2020 he successfully attended his first Countertechnique® TeacherTraining program, followed by a second CTTT in 2023, seeking for continuous growth and development. In the same year Timalso specialised in teaching workshops and curriculum work. As a dancer, Tim performed with various companies including Project Sally, Nederlands Dans Theater II, Cathy Sharp Dance Ensemble, Internationaal Dans Theater, de Stilte and National Dance Company Wales. He has collaborated with visionary choreographers such as Heidi Vierthaler, Juanjo Arques, Caroline Finn, Marcos Morau and Fernando Melo, amongst many other inspiring artists. “From a very young age I have been fascinated by the movements of the human body. Working as a professional dancer made me question how I could preserve my body as I aged: I couldn’t accept that I would become “too old” to move the way I wanted. Countertechnique® has been my answer to that. Countertechnique® allows dancers to move all the crazy ways they are asked to and wish to, while respecting the body as an irreplaceable, precious instrument. As a teacher, sharing this knowledge gives me great joy, empowering others to (re-)discover their body and find enjoyable ways to partner with it for the rest of their lives.” photo by Kim Doeleman</image:caption>

<image:caption>I have been creating clothing and costumes for over 30 years. I come from a long line of makers and have been making clothing since someone first gave me a pair of scissors and a pile of fabric scraps. Some endeavors have been more successful than others. Some ideas flew to the stars and some fell apart in pathetic, whimpering heaps. I have always been drawn to ideas around conservation and low to zero waste, recycling, reuse, and remaking. I love nature and color and tend to cringe at overused motifs and designs. I love the history of clothing and fabric, particularly in a sociological context. <image:caption>Nicole Johnson, Atlanta native and a founding artist of Fly on a Wall, began her professional career with the Atlanta Ballet in 2002 where she had the pleasure of working under the direction of John McFall. In 2009, she left the ballet to pursue more contemporary work with dance maker Lauri Stalling’s and this led to the formation of gloATL. In her five years helping to build glo, Nicole was a part of numerous site specific installations and performances and had the opportunity to work with artists of various media. This gave her the understanding that all work is truly collaborative at heart and became the foundation of Fly on Wall, which she began with Nathan Griswold and Sean Nguyen-Hilton in 2014. Since their inception, Fly on a Wall has created 13 original works for Atlanta, and are now proud to be artists in residence at the Windmill Art Center. As an independent artist in Atlanta Nicole has worked with The Alliance Theatre, Horizon Theater, Sky Creature, and was a 2016 Hughley Fellow. <image:caption>Kristin O’Neal is a performer, teacher and choreographer residing in Atlanta, GA. She received her MFA in Dance from Hollins University/ADF and taught at the University of Florida (2008-2014) where she continued her research of solo performance and character creation. Her character investigations led to an unfolding series of solos inspired by the lives of her grandmothers, Glenna and Dorothy, as well as aunts and great aunts named June, Helen, Diane, Constance and Nell. Many of these solos live in the repertoire of Sarasota Contemporary Dance in Florida. Early in her career while dancing with Gerri Houlihan, Kristin discovered a love of site work alongside choreographers Dale Andree and Heidi Duckler, which led to performances in various sites, including avocado groves, restaurants, galleries, hotels, and any water resource imaginable. Kristin’s long-time relationship with Andree led her to assist in the operations of Andree’s National Water Dance, which first started as the Florida Waterways Dance Project in 2011. Kristin co-teaches Contact Improvisation at Emory University with her husband, Greg Catellier, with whom she also collaborates in curious dance-making. <image:caption>Dana Marie Lupton movinginthespirit.org As an artist engaged in the creation, performance, and teaching of dance, it is my hope to address those issues which are relevant to the community in which I live, specifically as they relate to the individuals and groups with whom I work in partnership with. It is my intention to explore and assist others with the exploration of their intrinsic artistic expression, "giving voice" to pertinent social, cultural, and personal concerns. As dance combines visual, auditory, and physical elements, it is an ideal way to communicate those things that are not easily verbalized. Sharing and nurturing the spirit of dance is therefore an essential goal for my work, the avocation of a vocation, and the purpose with which I seek to experience art.</image:caption>
