Summer Intensive in Italy
JULY 13-27, 2019
Applications open Monday, January 21st
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Staibdance Intensive in Sorrento, Italy. The 2019 program serves as a meeting place for emerging and established movement artists and includes a partnership with a prestigious dance school in Naples. Participants are encouraged to create collaboratively, embrace spontaneity, build foundations for life-long connections, and hone their authentic, unique voices. The intensive is a source for personalized attention, providing the time and space for infinite growth as a performer. Together, we merge with the history, customs, and warmth of the region, celebrating cultural exchange.
"The first time I came to Sorrento and the Hotel Hermitage, I fell in love. As my students presented their final choreographic projects on the pool deck overlooking the city, the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius in the distance, I knew I needed to return and to bring other dancers to this inspiring place. I cannot think of a better setting in which to grow as an artist, a performer and a citizen of the world." - George Staib

The price of transportation to and from the airport by car or bus is included in the tuition and will not be refunded if the participant decides to arrange alternative transportation.

Each participant must have a valid passport that does not expire within 6 months of travel. Keep in mind that it takes about 6 weeks to renew a passport through the mail. See U.S. Passports & International Travel for more information on United States passport applications and renewals.
